Reishi mushroom (Ganoderma lucidem) is a commonly recommended supplement by Lyme practitioners. It has been used for hundreds of years in China and is considered by experienced practitioners to have a good safety profile

In the Chinese medical tradition, it calms a disturbed shen qi or mental spirit.

Immune

Considered general immune booster and anecdotally the most common reason it is taken by Lyme patients.

Insomnia

Authors maintain that it indirectly helps in insomnia by  providing daytime calm and decreasing anxiety, thus soothing a “depleted” nervous system that is agitated

Glucose Metabolism

Said to help regulate sugar metabolism

Hypertension

Authors maintain that it reduces blood pressure

Lipid Profile

Said to decrease cholesterol

Practitioners typically recommend 3 one-gram capsules three times a day.
